Izzy has been on leave doing university research in Queensland, as well as writing some material for the next Zarsoff Brothers album, so there are no live gigs booked for the band in the short term. Since April 2008, when his contract in Queensland finished, Izzy has relocated to Bilambil in northern NSW. A mini-tour with Rory Zarsoff, lead guitarist with the band in the 1980s, is a possibility, but Izzy’s preferred lineup is the one that recorded the ‘Mixed Business’ album. There are still plans for this version of the band to mount a tour of skullduggery around Sydney and NSW regional venues, once a new album of material eventuates.

Meanwhile, Zarsoffs drummer Bologne and his band LICK are gigging and recording, and Shaggy is performing live around Sydney venues with his own band. Smokey is also performing with BEACHHEAD, so keep an eye out). Izzy’s adventures while he’s up north have included being the bass player & shared lead vocals with semi-acoustic band ‘Paspalum’. That band released an album titled ‘Sticky Grass Pudding’, which Izzy recorded on his 24-track digital Yamaha machine. The founding linep of ‘Paspalum’ disbanded in July 2008. Until that time Izzy also played bass with ‘The Bob Dylan Songbook Band’ and in late 2008 he played bass on Dave Cavanagh’s new album, set for release in early 2009. Izzy also plays bass with Northern Rivers band ‘The Hillbilly Blues Bandits’, and has performed selectively with Murwillumbah singer-songwriter Gabi Bliss. Izzy is also looking for musicians for the band version of my 21st-century skiffle project, ‘Izzy Foreal & Associates’, as well as rehearsing up a new 60s band called ‘The Yesterbeats’. As if he isn’t busy enough, Izzy is also planning two solo albums – one for kids and one for adults. The Zarsoff Brothers, however, is his greatest love, and there will be a return!
